Richard Berg is CEO and co-founder of Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC., which trades and invests over $25 billion annually in fixed-income securities primarily for middle market institutions. Prior to co-founding Performance Trust, Mr. Berg was a Managing Director with Clayton Brown & Associates, Inc., where he directed the Portfolio Analytics Group, a division of the company dedicated to providing and executing commercial bank client investment and funding strategies. He was a Contributing Editor for the ABA Banking Journal for five years and authored various feature articles in this and other banking and regulatory publications. Mr. Berg is a nationally recognized speaker on the markets and financial matters and is a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV & Radio, MSNBC, Fox Business News, WLS, WTTW and Reuters. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Wheaton College and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
James A. Bowen is CEO of First Trust Portfolios L.P. and its affiliate, First Trust Advisors L.P. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the firms and putting teams in place to meet the many demands of the marketplace with the products and services the firms offer. Prior to forming First Trust Portfolios with several partners, Mr. Bowen was responsible for the First Trust product line at Clayton Brown & Associates, an innovative unit investment trust sponsor. In 1991, Mr. Bowen was instrumental in leading the purchase of the First Trust product line. Since that time, First Trust Portfolios has grown to be the largest independent unit investment trust sponsor, by sales, in the United States. Under Mr. Bowen’s direction, the firms have expanded their offerings to include closed-end funds, separately managed accounts, variable annuity sub-accounts, exchange-traded funds and mutual funds. The firms are also affiliated with several specialized money managers, which allows them to offer additional investment solutions to their client bases. Mr. Bowen has over 30 years of experience with packaged products for the financial services marketplace. Prior to forming First Trust, he held executive positions at various financial institutions. Mr. Bowen earned his bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.

Driven by his commitment to providing service excellence to his clients, business partners, and associates, Randy has excelled in ventures ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.Prior to PeopleStrategy, Randy served as President of the HRMS and Payroll Division for Salary.com, where he led the successful merger and acquisition of Genesys Software Solutions to create expansion opportunities in the HRMS and Payroll market for Salary.com.Randy's executive leadership skills served him well as the founder and CEO of Empagio, a global software and services company. Under his leadership, Empagio's team created a leading HR Outsourcing product offering for the mid-market, generating over 100 million paychecks per year for its clients. Empagio was sold to private equity investors in 2007. Randy also founded and led Opus Solutions, an early leader in web-enablement of legacy systems, which was sold in to the largest private technology holding company in the United States.Earlier in his career, Randy served as an executive consultant to many Fortune 500 clients in HR Technology Enablement and has held the position of Director of HRMS for a Chicago-based Fortune 500 company and Implementation Technology Manager for an enterprise payroll software company.
Jonathan R. Phillips is Managing Director and Head of Private Equity at First Trust Portfolios L.P., a diversified asset management firm headquartered in Wheaton, Illinois. Mr. Phillips is also the founder and Managing Partner of First Health Capital Partners, LLC, a healthcare technology and services investment firm founded in January 2016. In 2005, Mr. Phillips founded Healthcare Growth Partners, a provider of strategic and financial advisory services to healthcare technology companies, and served as its Managing Director until November 2016. Prior to founding Healthcare Growth Partners, Mr. Phillips was a member of the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at William Blair and Company, LLC, an investment banking firm. Prior to William Blair, he served in various roles in the healthcare practice of Deloitte Consulting. Mr. Phillips is the chairman of Streamline Health (Nasdaq: STRM) and serves on several private company boards. Mr. Phillips currently serves on the Board of Visitors of DePauw University, on the Rush University Medical Center Associates board, and on the nonprofit board of the Ray Graham Association, where he is a member of the finance committee. Mr. Phillips is a securities principal having completed the Series 24, 7 and 63 exams. Mr. Phillips earned his MBA in Finance, Marketing and Health Services Management from the J. L. Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and his BA in Economics and Management from DePauw University.
